Lead Portfolio Analyst | CFA® Charterholder | Towson University Alum
Ryan doesn’t just build portfolios — he builds confidence.
He joined The Flanders Group in 2013, when his father purchased Getz Tax Service on Main Street, and has since grown into the steady hand guiding clients through markets, milestones, and money decisions that matter most. Born and raised in Bel Air, Ryan brings Wall Street-level discipline with a Main Street heart — approachable, analytical, and focused on what really matters.
He’s always had a thing for numbers. After starting college as a Forensic Science major, he realized one semester shy of graduation that the lab wasn’t his future. A conversation with his father changed everything: “No one grows up wanting to be an accountant — you just realize you’re good at it.” Ryan didn’t become an accountant, but he did pivot to Economics, and he never looked back. That decision — part instinct, part legacy — set the stage for a career defined by clarity, empathy, and an educator’s mindset.
Professionally, Ryan is a CFA® charterholder and an active member of the Baltimore CFA Society. He specializes in portfolio design and implementation, helping clients cut through the noise with strategies that connect high-level investment analysis to the day-to-day realities of taxes, family goals, and financial confidence. For him, success is less about spreadsheets and more about stories — guiding clients through the emotions, fears, and breakthroughs that come with money decisions.
Outside of work, Ryan’s life revolves around his fiancée, Jenn, their four boys, two dogs and a whole lot of sports. If he’s not coaching or cheering at a baseball, lacrosse, or basketball game, he’s probably using their Orioles or Ravens season tickets — or catching whatever game’s on TV. When sports take a rare backseat, Ryan and Jenn love trying new restaurants, planning date nights, or traveling somewhere that becomes a new family memory.
His mornings are calm and simple — dogs out, hot coffee (no cream and one Splenda), and a quiet walk around the yard. It doesn’t matter what the day holds — that routine always comes first. He still calls Bel Air home and believes deeply in the power of small-town connection. For him, small-town vibes will always beat big-city energy.
And if there’s one lesson that sums up his philosophy?
“Life moves fast. You can waste a lot of it chasing perfection or worrying what others think. Take each day as it comes, make it the best it can be, then wake up and do it again. Work hard, play harder. Work to live — never live to work.”
