One of the greatest benefits of utilizing the services of a CPA is their unwavering commitment to Continuing Professional Education. This education is designed to keep our staff abreast of the latest changes to tax laws, technology, financial reform and legislation affecting our clients. As CPA's, we're committed to obtaining a minimum of 80 hours of education during each 2 year period. The staff at The Flanders Group consistently exceeds this minimum education requirement.

Our Team

David A. Flanders, CPA/PFS, CFP®

David created The Flanders Group in 2007 and offers his knowledge and experience as a Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™professional to help his clients make tax-optimized financial decisions. He has passed the FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams, as well as the Maryland Life and Health Insurance Exam. Dave has previously held executive financial management positions with companies in the retail, financial services, distribution and real estate development and management industries.

David received his Bachelor of Science in education from the Millersville University in 1978, his certificate in accounting from the University of Baltimore in 1985 and his certificate in personal financial planning from the University of Delaware in 2009. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Maryland Association of CPA's. He joined the financial services industry because he believes individuals deserve to receive the highest quality investment guidance, and he strives to provide that exceptional service to clients so they can experience the futures they dream about.

Dave lives in Bel Air with his wife, Diane, and together they have four grown children, four grandchildren, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Charlie. He enjoys golfing, sailing, and woodworking.

Diane Flanders

Diane joined The Flanders Group in 2014 and serves as the firm's president, responsible for business development, marketing and client relationships for the company. She brought with her more than 25 years of executive experience in two vice president roles. She joined the financial service industry because she enjoys helping people reach their goals and truly saw the need to do so on a personal, individual level for clients seeking to achieve their desired futures.

Diane was recognized as one of the "Top 100 Women in Maryland," a distinction that The Daily Record awards to successful women making impacts through leadership, community service and mentorship. She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Children volunteer, former president of the Mid-Atlantic Business Group on Health (MABGH) and past board member of HopeWell Cancer Support.

Diane currently lives in Bel Air with her husband, Dave, and together they have four grown children, four grandchildren, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Charlie. She loves gardening and making hand-crafted, all-natural soap, and she also enjoys entertaining guests and spending time with her family - especially on vacations at the beach.

Meghan Flanders

Meghan became part of The Flanders Group in 2014 and works directly with clients to help deliver a personable, stress-free feeling when they contact, or visit, the office. In this role, she is responsible for account opening and implementation. In previous years, she worked as an executive team leader, and an assistant branch manager at financial service companies.

Meghan is a member of the Chesapeake Women's Network and the Top of the Bay Women's Network, and she also volunteers at Luna's House, a local animal shelter. She was inspired to join the financial services industry because of her love of helping people, particularly in their financial lives. She believes that helping individuals improve their financial well-being will allow everything else to fall in place for them.

Meghan is originally from the West Coast and once co-piloted a flight from St.Croix to Puerto Rico. She lives in Bel Air with her husband, Ryan, and their two sons, John and Cruz. They also have two boxers and an orange cat who is a real life depiction of Jim Davis' "Garfield."

Susan Fintrilis

Susan joined the team at The Flanders Group in 2016 and works directly with clients in an administrative role at our reception desk. She provides a top-notch client experience, relying on over 17 years of customer service experience

Susan graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2014. Susan also spends her time working as a substitute Inclusion Helper and Para-educator at John Archer School

Susan lives in Bel Air with her husband, Adam, her son, Gus, and their two cats, Thelma and Louise.

Ryan M. Flanders

Ryan began his role at The Flanders Group in 2013 and assists with financial plan development, portfolio design and implementation, tax preparation and small business accounting. He also provides office IT support and web design and maintenance.

Ryan graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Prior to joining The Flanders Group, he gained 12 years of management experience, where he ascertained critical leadership and decision making skills required for success in his current role. His decision to become part of the financial services industry was spurred by his keen ability in working with numbers and his desire to make financial planning approachable and easy to understand for clients. Ryan is a 2018 Level II candidate in the CFA program.

Ryan is an avid, overly-superstitious sports fan, who loves the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, and the Maryland Terps. He also enjoys playing a round of golf, remodeling his house, and taking family beach vacations. He lives in Bel Air with his wife, Meghan, their two sons, John and Cruz, two dogs, Peyton and Sissy, and their cat Alex.

Craig Weller

Craig joined The Flanders Group in 2016 to primarily focus on tax preparation and small business accounting. He brought with him 15 years of professional experience interacting with all types of personal and business tax situations, including return preparation.

Craig has earned two Bachelor degrees and a Master of Business Administration degree. His educational preparation has helped navigate him through a 35 year executive career in health and finance, holding positions as a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Vice President of Operations. Craig is a registered preparer in Maryland and continues to participate in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program while pursuing the Enrolled Agent designation.

Craig lives in Fallston with his wife, Cindi, and together they have two grown sons and two grandchildren. He enjoys an infrequent round of golf, daily exercise, and working in the yard.
