Charles Russo, PhD, CPA, CVA, CMA Dr. Charles J. Russo is a highly experienced professional whose career has encompassed successful positions in both public accounting and academia.  Dr. Russo's expertise includes valuations of closely held businesses where he is often called upon to serve as an expert witness, and in providing sophisticated tax analysis and planning for individuals and businesses.  In addition to his affiliation with David A. Flanders, CPA, LLC, Dr. Russo is also a professor of accounting at Towson University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). Dr. Russo has more than 25 years of experience in business consulting. He was previously a Senior Tax Consultant with a Big 4 accounting firm and a Senior Tax Manager for a Mid-Atlantic super-regional consulting firm ranked in the national top 25.  He has taught many graduate and undergraduate courses including Advanced Accounting, Advanced Federal Taxation, Graduate Tax Policy, Graduate Managerial Accounting, Graduate Financial Accounting, and Advanced Cost Accounting.  He has also taught courses in the areas of Public Budgeting & Finance, Health Care Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership & Performance Development. Dr. Russo served as Department Chair of Accounting and Program Director for Personal Financial Planning at Penn State University/Penn College of Technology and Barry University in Florida.   Dr. Russo received his PhD from Penn State University in 2002 and his Masters in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in 1991.  In addition, he attended Florida State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting in 1983.   Dr. Russo is a prolific author having published numerous articles in academic and professional journals and has taught seminars for various state CPA societies and other professional groups across the United States.     To reach by email: charles@flanderscpa.com  Back
